Mom and Dad in Argentina

Well, my parents arrived in Buenos Aires on the 15th of July, ending our 6 month time period without seeing each other.  We've eaten so much delicious food, seen much of BA, and made our way north to Iguazu Falls, and then Northwest to Salta.  It's been an amazing trip!  We took so many pictures over the past couple of weeks but here are some highlights...

They've changed quite a bit since I last saw them!

Arrived in Salta!

Traditional Salteño food, Locro.  Traditional dish contains Chickpeas, beans, meat, pork.  Other varieties will have potato, pumpkin, corn, etc.

Purmamarca, Northern Argentina.  Getting closer to the Bolivian border.
The name of the town can be interpreted as the combination of Aymara language words purma (desert) and marca (city), though desert in that language can refer to uncivilized or not touched by human hand, thus the name is often interpreted as Town of the virgin land.

Salinas Grandes!!

We tried for an action shot, haha didn't quite work out how we'd hoped.

Outside our hotel room in Tilcara.
Two women walking down the street, selling Coca to help with the altitude.

In the middle of nowhere, Nick had us stop at this woman's home where she makes traditional Poncho's and scarves.  Each scarf takes about 4-5 days.

Back in BA.
Well, we had an amazing time.  I think I hit the limit on pictures that I could upload in one post, so maybe I will have to do a second round!  It's hard to put everything into words!  I'm off to help my parents pack up and have one last lunch in BA.  Their flight leaves at 8:30 tonight.  Besooooooooos!
